1First, understand what a zip file is. A zip file can be one or more files that have been compressed to save space. People also can zip files together so that they are sending one zip file to a friend instead of five single files. Step 2To open a zip file on windows, you can typically double click the file or "extract" the file through a wizard installed to a folder of your choice on your computer. Extracting means to decompress (or unzip) the file. Step 3If this does not work, download and install zip file decompression software. Two popular decompression software programs are WinZip (see Resources) and WinRar. These zip file programs are free and can also be used for other compressed file formats like rar files.

Like situation is very usual for me. I quite often with archives on my work. Luckily I found out the solution similar issues - repair zip file. I observed it on an one soft community. It impressed on me within minutes after I had extracted it on my PC. Probably it will be so effective for you.
