Yedda - Yedda - Yedda

What do you think of the level of interaction on Yedda?
Some users think it's all too serious - others get annoyed if anyone posts a frivolous question or answer.

Me - I think it's a nice mix of stuff.

Come on you Yedda users? What do you think? More fun or more heavy heavy monster stuff?

I think it is great that there is a balance and people can pick and choose to answer what they want.  I love this site, it is my favourite past time!

Any excuse not to study!

I enjoy the mix and the topic groupings. I enjoy the true exchange of knowledge in some questions and the light hearted manner of others. Sadly, you mention people being upset because it's not "their way", this has become one of the major breaking points in this country (politically and socially), and it's across the entire spectrum of society and politics. THE DESIRE TO CONTROL OTHERS.

It bring to minds aphorisms about Glass Houses and Casting First Stones.

Sadly, looking at some of the questions (as they're written) I have to wonder about the competence and intelligence of the authors - incomplete sentences, horrid grammar, non-existent spelling and the fact that some of the "questions" are sheer gibberish alarms me about the country in general.

To those who don't think about their questions, if you're seriously seeking knowledge, you have to be able to convey your question in a comprehensible manner or the 'rest of us' can't help you with an answer.

GIVE a man a fish and you feed him for a day. TEACH a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. SADLY, most fishermen are afraid to touch the worm.

geoffbeneze, 2 thumbs up for you! Really, I can't understand some of these questions either, and yes, it is alarming!  I thought that most people in America knew how to read and write most words by the 10th grade!  Who's to blame for this?

Anyway, I love yedda! I am hooked. People are so interesting.  I found myself getting into some really heated debates with people on Religion and Christianity (of all things).. it actually made me feel a little terrible afterward, but the passion just rose up in me, I couldn't ignore it.  It actually went so far that a couple people told me to just shut up, giving me loads of thumbs down for every single answer I gave, and even threatening me, saying they new where I lived!  LOL!

But on most other things, I'm with you. I think it's a nice mix of stuff, and hope to enjoy yedda and all the great people I have met here for years to come.

Take care, and God Bless you!

Eleven months I wasn't a member of the Yedda Community! The months have passed and I have found a place in Cyber Space that holds an interesting and almost magical quality. Boredom has no place to hid and no matter your individual opinion, there will be someone that will interested in a discussion.

If one asks a question, and no-one answers, what does it mean?

I've found questions that were posted five years ago -- some have answers and others don't.

Yedda is definitely interesting or as fun/serious as one choses. Perhaps I'll answer a medical question from a physician's viewpoint or find a 'silly solution' that's just for fun. Mix it all together and there are enough choices to encourage anyone to visit! Realist or Dreamer? I am both so the answer would have to be, "I think it's a nice mix of stuff!"

Love it.  It is the next best thing to sliced bread.  I do understand what you mean though about those who take it too serious and are rather insulting to some posing questions.

Great question by the way.

To some that what "jokie" answers to serious questions they cant answer is they do not have the answers  and i believe they need to go to the cartoon channells and read.

Yedda has proven, for many of us,to be a fabulous site.

You can find discussions/arguments of a serious nature or you can joke back and forth with friends in a casual manner.

If you have a serious problem you can find serious help here on Yedda and that is the best thing of all.  Knowing that you've helped someone along the way.

We all, no matter how young, well educated or poor, find ourselves at one time or another wanting to ask someone for help who will not judge us.

Because of the ability to remain virutally unknown, answers are freely given.

We should try to remember that there are all ages and educational levels here on Yedda and frame our questions and answers accordingly.

I think Yedda is ridiculous. You answer a question and you can view your own answer but you cant view any of the other answers., like you can on Yahoo Answers. Why on earth would you have a format where people cant even compare their answers to other answers.? That is the fun of it. Yedda is completely ridiculous. I will not be back.
