Your question is not clear !. Is it: X^3 + 3X^2 +6X + 4 and it should be divided by 1 or by X or X^1 (which is still X). Please clearify and I promise to answer you !
I think it is missing + signs; the - signs usually come through OK.
x^3+3x^2+6x+4 divided by x+1 is x^2+2x+4. How to do this:
first divide x^3 by x giving x^2, then multiply x^2 by (x+1) giving x^3+x^2, subtract that from x^3+3x^2+6x+4 giving 2x^2+6x+4.
second divide 2x^2 by x giving 2x, then multiply 2x by (x+1) giving 2x^2+2x, subtract that from 2x^2+6x+4 giving 4x+4.
third divide 4x by x giving 4, multiply 4 by (x+1) giving 4x+4, subtract from 4x+4 giving 0 remainder.
