What can i write for the christian perspective on adlers safeguard tendencies

Not being much of a disciple of Alfred Adler, I had to google the reference.  However, it rang a bell.  I had run into this business before in my junior year in college many years ago.  His main doctrine was social advancement in a competitive society and passing up one's rivals. 

That is at odds with Christian living as Adler stresses selfishness as a "virtue" and Christianity revolves around caring and sharing as we would in a harmonious family.

Adler's beliefs are not the question as I believe his theory is severely in error.
