How to work with both USB and ethernet interface simultaniously. ?

I have to test both USB and ethernet interface simultaniously... But on connecting both USB and ethernet cable simultaniously, traffic takes only ethernet path (USB interface is totaly ignored)....If I remove the ethernet cable, then only traffic is moving through USB interface. I am testing using ICMP traffic..

I have given different LAN IP address for both the interfaces . I am working in windowsXP.

I would recommend that you go to the microsoft website and take a look at the DevCon utility. You should be able to have full control over your ports and network adapters with that.

No you arent able to use the phone type port, as that is there for the dial up modem. It is however possible to buy a network card which goes inside the computer, connecting to the PCI slot.
