I would like to know if using "wood ashs" from my fire place is good in the garden?

Hi, my name is John. I would like to know if using "wood ashs" from my fire place is good in the garden? I have a "hoop house" 32 ft. x 16 ft.. Plastic PVC tube construction and a clear garden plastic covering. The garden is about 8-9 yrs old, the "hoop house" is in the 4th season. I also add kitchen, garden waste, sawdust and tree leaves that I compost separately in a 5' x 5' x 2' bin. Please let me know if using the ashes from my fire place is good to do. Thank you for your time.

John
