why is it that so many people "view" the questions.....but only a few people actually leave a coment/answer?
Sometimes you have to "view" the question in order to see the entire thing.
Sometimes you realize the existing answers already provide an answer and there is nothing to add.
Sometimes you just want to keep up with what people are talking about or see an answer one of your friends (or enemies) has given.
Each time someone opens a question, it shows as "viewed," regardless of the motivation for opening it.
Thus, if I submit my answer and then realize I left something out or made a typo and I wish to correct it, my doing so will add another count to the views.
Grandma said it all...
jkgrandma's reply is pretty much it. But, more than once, I have viewed a question because I was curious as to the subject matter myself and thought that by seeing the entire post, I might get clued in on an answer.
And, of course, there are the questions that are so incredibly bizarre or indecipherable that you just have to see them in their entirety.
The above answers most of your question. Curiosity is one reason I look at the questions or because they appear to be interesting to me for one reason or another. At times, I watch what others have to say in their responses because they contain some very good advice. Some people will not reply to questions when they are not sure of the answers, or that appear to be homework questions. In addition, some of the questions could have been googled and the answer found easily. At times, a stupid answer just pops into my head and I can't resist typing it. LOL
I view cause i am interested in learning about different things in life. I answer if i think i know or add to what has been answered before me .
