I took effexor ex for 3 months then I have them up ...

i took effexor ex for 3 months then I have them up a bit too quickly, like every second day for the last 3 tablets, now for the last 5 days I suffer from this awful dizziness, I just want to know on average how long will this go on for and is there anything I can take to help

Tricia, The withdrawal from Effexor can last up to 2 months. The drug is in all of your tissues. You have to do a very slow taper. Try taking dramamine, or mecklazine for the dizziness. Both are over the counter meds used for dizziness. Ask your doctor for one or two doses of Prozac. Prozac has a much longer half life than Effexor. I read some people got a lot of relief tapering off of Effexor when they took a dose of Prozac. You will be fine. It will go away. It just is going to take time.
