Sarah,

   These are two very good bands but if i had to pick one it would be three days grace.  This is solely my oppinion but i enjoy their songs more.

Breaking Benjamin writes better lyrics, has superior song structure, and dynamics. 3 Days Grace Rocks much harder and is less polished sounding and more gritty. two of the best bands out there right now.

Ah...Hard question....But I would have to go with Breaking Ben. I saw them twice and Three Days Grace three times, but Breaking Ben just has better music.
