N- The bare wood will age and deteriorate faster. It will certainly stain. You will be much more likely to pick up splinter from the bare wood. JayR

I have put 80,000 miles on my Ranger. It had 100,000 on it when I bot it. It will cruise 75-80 mph down the hiway, if the rest of the traffic is going that fast, without any problems. It does not burn oil.
