I can't find mine. I'm looking but can't find it.
My mother is my motivation.
I'm with Elden....lost my motivation and cannot find it....used to have some....but no more.... and motivation is absolutely necessary if you want to lose weight...no doubt about it.
Even though lot of motivation, i could not lost my weight. I couldnt stick to my determination.
I keep my weight at the norm for my age group. If it means increasing my activity and/or reducing my caloric intake, I do so.
That's the way to do it Dr. Kelly. I had a girlfriend who used to lose a pound every single time she gained one. Did that all through our teens and long after. She was always thin, but not skinny and looked perfect. There were four of us girls who hung around together as eighth graders and grandma's. The three plump ones are still alive. The one who dieted died 6 years ago.
The best thing that ever happened to America IMHO is the weight loss support group. The idea is to realize that excess fat really is as nasty as it sounds and the best move is to remove it steadily and sensibly. Most of that is done with diet that avoids hunger pangs, provides ample nutrition, and reduces caloric intake to something sensible.
Weight Watchers is a mellow group that uses positive encouragement for people like me to shed excessive pounds and keep it off. I took off 35 pounds and found that the diet they set up was the healthiest I ever ate. I compared notes with Dr. Lindsey, Harborview Nutritionist, and found out that he was the one who devised the diet for Weight Watchers. It is the best thing the planet has ever seen for diabetics, as they suffer the worst from chronic obesity.
TOPS is much the same in that they use positive reinforcement to help people get back to healthy weight. They also have a great program for diabetics.
The idea is to live healthy, to maintain good vigor, and get the food we need without the food we do not need.
