HI have a MARQUETTE MODEL 71 ARC WELDER, found that 3 digits were fabricated in the 50"s Can some one help me find out how old is this one, I know is old, but how old is it ???? THANKS.
Marquette model 71? Probably best used for models and light sheet metal work. It doesn't pack enough amps to hook it up to a spot welder or to run high alloy steel rod.
I'd say you are best off to use it for welding light metal only. Use no bigger than 3/32" rods and realize it wasn't built for tough work. Never ask it to deliver more than 130 amps.
