They are profitable because the men have to pay but are free for women.Most of the female profiles are fake and are there to lure the men in and get them to pay to join.

Like you have mentioned that online dating websites like eHarmony are profitable, but they are profitable because they invest a lot into their patented compatibility matchmaking system and are responsible for thousands of marriages. Yes the best dating websites will have a membership fee but you will be happy to know that on eHarmony these expenses can be offset by using their eharmony promotional code so you pay less for complete services and enjoy full access to all services.

I think that websites should be more vigilant of fake profiles.  I mean granted there are a lot of persistent fakes that try to pull scams, but overall any decent site that tries to weed out the fakes should be rewarded with some reward or profit.  I signed up for this free online dating site called Sweetluck recently and I have to admit, I like it a lot, I have not noticed any fakes or losers yet.  Check them out!!
