The best web directory?

How to choose the best directory to submit my website to? Do I even need to do that, or can I just submit the website to as many directories as I can find?

You can search those directory sites in the internet. Any sites will do but it is still best that you will submit in high pr sites.

As many as you can and yes start with the one's with highest page rank

you cannot be submitting your website to directories indiscriminately. low value directories will not bring you any value. if the ratio of low value directories is too high it may weigh down your link popularity. directories should be carefully researched. you cannot go the lazy route. the best way is to find the directories your competition is listed in that google validated and try to be in those directories. that's work! but that's how.
