Well water problem

I left the water on outside all day and now we have no water pressure and the cold water is rusty

You pumped out the well dry. The rust is sediment from the well. Once the water table returns to it's level you will need to flush the pipes and the water heater to remove the rust, If that doesn't work, install a rust and sand filter on the line comming from the well.

If you think it will be easy remember Murphy's Law.If anything can go wrong, it probably will.
