Water coming up through rough in for shower and shower is not being use.

e have a finished bathroom in basement. when it rain real hard we have water coming up through the roung in for the shower goin under the laminate flooring. the toilte area is fine. should i pull the shower out and pour cement down around the pcv pipe for the shower drain to stop water coming up. we do have a sump pump but it about 20 ft away . neep help?

both the toilet andthe shower drains..drains into the sewer line but when the shower was connected to the rought in pike they fill the hole around the pipe with the loose rock ( gravel). should i pull the shower back out and pull all the loose stone and gravel and fill the area around the pipe with cement so the water from under the basement floor doesn't come up through the shower rough in area. the shower works fine and the drain. water olny come through that area when it rain heavy and soaks down to the bottom of the foundation.

You talk about 'shower rough in' -( that's commonly the basic drain, without shower on it) then ask "should i pull the shower out "  - sounds like it was built incorrectly and NOT sealed in the first place !  -' Finished basement ' ? ?   - Get the idiot who 'finished' it to come back and do it properly.  =Both the toilet and shower should run into a proper sump with a septic pump in it to automatically pump up when about 2/3 full. Cool
