"did" VS "do" for learn english.

Did you get an email? Do you get an email? But I know "do" for present, "did" for past But could you tell me what is the different in the context for the example above?

An email arrives in an instant, so it normally is not in the present tense.  The only time we would use the present tense is to talk about regularly occurring events. Do you get spam?  Do you get email from your mother?
