You may not like this answer, but I think that just about sums up what we have now and what we're going to have later on......

I fail to see how a dumb politition could really be in touch with the issues, or know what to do about it.

At least the smart guy can get in touch. And being smarter, is better equipped to do something about it. 

Foolproof you say? Challenge excepted.
