Vin title

i want to find my fiance's old car he got rid of it for extra money he didn't want to see it go but we were in a tight spot i want to find it for him? he still has a title to it i want to run the vin and see if i can find out the current owner

I'm not sure how he has kept the title to a vehicle he has sold.  The current owner would need to have a legal title to it for licensing, unless they were using it for parts for another vehicle. In our state, you also need a title to junk a vehicle. I don't think that there is anywhere you could get this information.  Privacy laws have taken over our lives.

I dont know which country you are in but If he has sold the car the new owner has the legal title to it unless the car was not yours to sell. i.e it was hired, or subject to a rental agreement, Normally only the police and similar authorities have access to VIN numbers. You may be able to find a private detective with "unofficial access to these records but even that is illegal

Once you sell an article a contract is formed and the title passes to the new buyer
