Discuss Tonu Sultana's answer to: Anyone ever been to Venice?

Have you ever been to Venice, Italy? I am looking for a few tips!

Venice, known as the "Queen of the Adriatic," "City of Water," "City of Bridges and Canals" and "The City of Light," is unique and nothing compares to it. The city is built on 117 small islands which are connected by 409 bridges and 150 canals.  Only three of the bridges cross the main canal. The town is a perfect place to walk and become hopelessly lost.  Here are some of the many things you can do in Venice:

  • Visit St. Mark’s Basilica.
  • Take a Grand Canal tour.
  • Watch a glass-blowing demonstration on Murano Island.
  • Tour the Doge’s palace.
  • Take the elevator to the top of the campanile.
  • Wander the streets of Burano Island.
  • Take a hike on Torcello Island.
  • Window shop at the Rialto Market.
