I used to play a great game called doublecross ...

i used to play a great game called doublecross sierra hoyle games.....one day it just wasnt there with no reason.....i was addicted to the game and would like to know if it is coming back or moved elsewhere....please help

Doublecross is a board game found on the Hoyle Boardgame CD. It was available online for free play until last month when the makers decided that it was not good enough to keep online. Activision took the game off and has not replaced it. The doublecross gaming community and the rest of the Hoyle boardgame community was angered beyond belief but that did not stop them. There is no game online like doublecross, it is a great loss.

thanks so much for the answer...i have been going crazy trying to find a game that is comparable but there is nothing like it.....yes it is quite upsetting.....they just did away with it without us knowing...shame on them....

The only comparable game is probably just plain old scrabble. The game Wordox is played like scrabble but that may have been taken down with Double Cross. However, Yahoo.com has a comparable game to Wordox called Literati. It's social like the other games are. Good luck, cyndil00@aol.com

I have been unable to find anything remotely like Doublecross, If you go to the Hoyle Gaming Site there is a little blip about "someday" putting boardgames back online. I am so fed up with the way Hoyle operates that I would not believe anything they say. If you like wordox there is a game site called word biz that is almost the exact game as wordox. The lobby is not as nice to sit and enjoy but the game is roughly the same. One site is called word steal, http://wordsteal.com/, the other game is called word biz. Give them both a try.
