It depends on when you become unemployed. Its calculated by a base-year period and how much you received during each calendar quarter in the base year. It sounds confusing I know. I called the unemployment office the hour after I was released from my job and had my first check within three weeks. The lady on the phone was very helpful to me and actually filed my claim right over the phone.
