Unable to log into AOL Email Account

My wife has been unable to log into her AOL email account for the last few weeks. She cannot access it through her iPhone or the web portal. On her mobile it just says the server cannot be reached. However, through the web portal it looks like it logs in but before showing her inbox a message saying signing out or logging out appears and she is returned to the log in screen. Any ideas as to what is causing this and how she can access her mail?
