If you are typing just for yourself, then it does not matter. You certainly will not care about spelling, punctuation or grammar; now will you?

If, on the other hand, you are typing for other eyes (a school paper, a letter, a job application) then the answer is, 'Yes.' Under those (or similar) circumstances, you should most definitely edit your work!

Since what you send out is a representative of you, you should always check your spelling and punctuation.  It seems like a lot of trouble, but it's your intellect that they see, not your good looks or your beautiful personality.  I hope this was helpful.  Pnk.

What you type and send out to someone else to read is a representation of yourself. If your typing is careless and sloppy , then someone would assume that you are careless and sloppy. If you are a neat and careful person then your typing should reflect that. So yes, it does matter.

Many won't, but your the judge. Pnk

I agree with the other respondents that you should carefully check your typing upon completion for spelling, puncuation and other grammatical errors.  This especially important if you are turning in something for school or typing a reume.  It could mean the difference between a passing grade or a failing grade and between getting a job or being turned down for a job.  Your writing is a reflection of yourself even if it is only writing casually.

When you compose something, you need to edit.  If you are using a computer, it's very easy to edit.  You want to submit your best work, especially if your handwriting is bad.

Think of a long triangle with the point at the bottom and the wide part on top. Type your report by using little margins at the beginning, then make the lines gradually smaller till there's only one word at the bottom. Of course, it depends on how many words you write and the font size.
