No, Icarus was a Greek prince.  He was jailed in the Island of Crete.  He built wings (made of Wax) and took off....  but he went too high and the hot sun melted his wings (wax wings !) and he fell to the sea and was drawn.  Google it and I am sure you'll find much more.
