Televisions are rated for a long lifespan, but eventually, all will need servicing in one form or another. Traditionally, tube-based televisions encountered one typical problem: the cathode ray tube would malfunction, and would either be replaced or recalibrated. In the modern age of flatscreen TVs, however, many more common issues can crop up that require the services of a TV repair technician. LCD and Plasma TVs are illuminated with internal lamps to provide a bright image, rated to last from 30,000 to 60,000 hours under ideal conditions. In practice however, the lamps may burn out much sooner. While rear-projection televisions allow the user to swap out the lamp themselves easily, very few flatscreen manufacturers provide this option. It is recommended that a qualified technician make this TV repair, especially if the set is under warranty.

How can I repair a broken garden hose?

If you take it to a large hardware store, they may be able to sell you a replacement connector that clamps on. If you have a hole 10 feet from the end of a 50 foot hose, you could wind up with a 40 foot hose. I did that once, and it was never quite right. My choice would be to buy a new hose.
