fresnodanny, when Dennis Hastert was Speaker he flew in a military plane at the request of the President for securlity reasons and it was a small 12 seat Gulfstream to take him to his home state of Illinois. Ms. Pelosi was not happy with the small planebecause it could not make the longer trip to her home state of California non-stop like going to Hastert's closer to Washington D.C. home state. What was good enough for one Speaker was not so for the other. As for number of trips I dare say it cost at least double maybe triple for a trip to California in that large plane than what it cost for a trip to Illinois. So a round trip might be four times what the cost of a shuttle jump for Hastert. And I don't put so much stock in Lynn Sweet's article for the Chicago Sun-Times about a double standard and I do read the from the Internet by checking Google and Snopes.

You know what, Shipman?  No matter what the subject, you'll always be right.  Republicans never do wrong and always have America's and American's best interests at heart.  Liberals are merely stupid, shallow sheep who love spending other people's money and can't speak for themselves.  So I'm just gonna call it a day and let you claim victory, much like Bush on that aircraft carrier off the San Diego coast.  Enjoy your hot air ride... you're full of it.

fresnodanny, I say again that the original question was "should we waste more tax money on a Truth Commission" and I say NO. As many of the people on this blog have said, we need to look toward the future, not the past" othewise we would be looking at the failed policies of Clinton and Carter but liberals would not want to do that. They only want to investigate two term Presidents like Nixon, Reagan and Bush. Why is that? And you say that I am full of hot air. But the truth will come out in time without a commision so I'll let the subject drop for now. The Bush haters will tire of bashing him and we have a new President who is righting all of the wrongs and now campaigning around the globe for world leader. He is better at that than Clinton who had twelve years as Governor while Obama only had one part term as a Senator. By the way who is now running GM?
