How many of us who label ourselves as Christians know the true meaning of common words repeated in the Bible? It amazes me how many Christians can not define these words indiviually Faith Sin ...
I know your asking about certain words, but let me take it a step further. There is no true meaning for any word, there is only meaning, and certain words are definitely an asset to your vocabulary more then others. The word bible can only be interpreted and encompassed according to what the individual knows about bibles and what’s in them. A carpenter would see a meaning differently then a farmer, or perhaps a fisherman. And if the word has a capital letter the meaning can change again, such as your word spirit, Spirit. We now become aware of words that in this culture are made up of 26 symbols put in a certain order to convey a thought. And this is just the beginning, give some thought to other cultures, they have different symbols that convey a whole new stream of thought. It takes only one symbol to convey a thought. The order in which they are placed is far reaching. Take the symbols I, A, and M, when placed in this order: I AM; they would reach to the ends of the universe if there was one. My message is that words have different slants for each of us and a whole sentence can lean to the left or right, depending on our internal makeup. A quick lesson on this; contemplate these words, optimist, pessimist, realist, idealist, introvert, and extravert. These words are labels associated with people in accordance to their perception of life and others perception of them.
@jameslee102447 I am a student of words and their many connotations; Just recently I started to become enamored with the symbols in American culture we see everyday assigned to corporate logos and all business entities; symbols assigned to all educational and religious organizations and all entities in all cultures across the our globe. It is a paradox; I observed many variations leading back to the same common theme. Only the Spiritually mature mind will discern what I have observed. The truth of my observation would not be comprehended my most in this yedda world. What I detect from these observations and your comment is Truth has many views and connotations’ to it. Truth is not narrowed in its perspective. Narrowed minded people often fall short of seeing truth in this world. ? Possessing a broad perspective of the connotations of words and cultures will lead you to more truth in this world, Universe, Galaxy and beyond. As a Christian my belief is that all Truth leads me to The Father of Creation through Jesus Christ. A day will come when I will find out if this to is True.
Are you a student of the Bible? Do you know about the tower of Babel and why God decided to divide humanity by giving mankind different languages thereby creating different cultures?
I agree that a man who limits his interpretations to his profession:
or culture will have narrow views unless they choose to see the world through broader perspectives beyond their chosen profession or culture.
A man will accept truth based upon what he learns and study in life; anything he does not study he will doubt, be suspicious and chose not to believe.
I enjoyed your view on this .... well said.
