That's a Holly 1904 model & what U speak of is very common & easy to repair. U have 1 of 2 styles either a "Glass or Metal Bowl". The most common is Metal with 4 "Tab Ears" to hold it on. Both the "Bowl" & "Carb Base" warp towards each other requiring that U "Set them Back" by using a "Flat Heavy Steel Plate" & "BFH"! Take a couple shop towels for "Padding in Ur Hand" & place the Carb with the "Sealing Surface" up to place the "Steel Plate" Accross. Then rest Ur hand on Ur knee & using the "BFH", strike the "Plate" Squarely in the "Middle" until it Re-Forms & Flattens the Sealing Surface again. It may not be "Perfect" but U can get VERY CLOSE to Perfect! Next is the "Bowl" which can be held in the hand & "Slammed Down" onto the "Steel Plate" doing the same thing. Now that U know How to Repair them, <www.daytonaparts.com> is a place who will sell U a Rebuilt carb for that better than New!!! I see a price of $200.00 which is a good price for what they do. Phone is 386-427-7108. A lot of guys run 3 of these carbs with the "Glass Bowls" & they look real sharp on a "Tricked Out 6cyl." engine in an old Ford P/U.   John
