Give in and laugh.  After having been an Atheist, you could use a little humor to brighten your dismal life.

If atheists ever laughed their blood would curdle.

I love to laugh.  When my kids tell jokes, I may have heard them before, but they thought it was funny so I laugh along. 

It creates a wonderful synergy: even if the punchline is well known, the fact that someone wanted to brighten my day with a joke is good cause to take great cheer.

That is one way I have to hope we all come down with Terminal Jokitis!  Maybe if we all learned to laugh and be of good cheer, then we'd restore all of greatness and love.

So, why did the chicken cross the road . . .?

If you have trained your son well, then your conversion to a monotheistic religion should cause him to cease laughing. Taking him to Sunday School will wipe that grin off of his face.

Atheists were laughing and joking in their gulag when they butchered Jesus and roasted his flesh on a barbecue. Atheists are all mass murderers, torturers and pedophiles.

Terminal Jokitis is not a well documented syndrome as humorous persons so very rarely become ill.  "Laughter does us good, like a medicine," goes the ancient proverb.  Truly it does.

More importantly, Terminal Jokitis is highly contagious!  When one person tells a funny story, others tell funny short stories also.  Be it a one-liner or a half-hour shaggy dog story, Terminal Jokitis will be with you as long as you live: there is no cure for telling jokes, laughing, having fun, and enjoying oneself.  And anyone who tries to cure it will have to contend with me!

Ah, there are some conditions that I delight to encourage.  Between good health and good humor, the latter is more to be desired because we can still tell jokes from a sick bed!

One thing my good Marine Corps stresses is great morale.  That means we tell the most wretched bad jokes you can imagine.
