Can i travel on my expired passport

I have a south african passport, which has expired whilst i am in the uk. i need to fly home to south africa, how can i get home on an expired passport

You need to get a new passport in order to enter the country.

You need to get a new passport in order to leave the country. go to your embassy and apply for a new one, you could get in serious trouble if you dont

To travel anywhere whether your in home country or not, you have to present a valid passport. So you have to renew it before expiration.
