How long does it take to get to the top of Table mountain in Cape Town South Africa?

If you use the cable it's a short ride (as far as my memory serves me it is about 4-5 minutes).  If you climb by foot it depends what route do you take and how fit you are.   I didn't do it by myself so I can only estimate that if you choose the easy route and you climb in an average normal speed it will take some 2.5 hours or so.

There are several routes to the top if you prefer hiking up Table Mountain.  One must bear in mind though that you need to go well prepared for the climb and take the necessary safety precautions.  A hike can be anything from from 2 hours up to 4 hours but as said before the cable car takes about 5 minutes once you have purchased your ticket.  These queues can be long so I would advise that you get a ticket on line or at cumputicket as this saves a lot of time.
