You have to go through the CT CNA Registry to do this, NY won't help you at all.  Connecticut uses prometric to help them do all this but all you need to do is provide proof of your current and good standing CNA and you will be allowed to take the certification test in CT.  You do need to take the test and pass it...obviously, but if you've been working as a CNA you shouldn't have a problem.
