Tootsie Roll Charity . . . I suggest we rid ourselves of the "tootsie roll" handout as a promo tool, and use a 3-pak of bandages as the replacement. Here's why.
The tootsie roll is awful candy. It has no relevant connection to the appeal. It is bad for teeth. It causes litter. It has no ongoing communication. Who is its target audience?? The "tootsie" is passe, and doesn't carry a sweet taste toward the KC cause.
A bandage pak, however, is useful, carries a "helpful" message, has universal appeal and function, is small yet can pack a strong emotional punch. Will give the Knights a far better p.r. effort than a stale slug of candy.
I suggest a focus group, or KFC marketing, begin planning for the change. I am interested in a quick response from the marketing staff.
