When is the best time of year to visit Napa Valley?

When is the best time of year to visit Napa Valley CA?  I'm thinking of a 4-7 day trip, just long enough to really feel like I'm getting a break from "normal life" & enjoying some quality relaxation time with my hubby.

Hi,
I live about 1 1/2 hours south of Napa & have visited there January, April, May, with April being the nicest because everything looks so green & vibrant & Springy! I imagine October would also be a nice time, weather-wise, but you'll be seeing Fall colors, so it really depends on which season you prefer.

Napa is where the great wineries are, but less than 30 miles north is Calistoga, one of my favorite areas in the Napa Valley (reasonably-priced hotels containing mineral pools & quaint downtown shops). It's a lovely drive between the two cities.

Check out this trip I found for you as an example of a trip where they enjoyed Napa & Calistoga.

We went about three years ago in mid-Fall and it was simply spectacular - but it's also great in the summer when you can see the vineyards at work and in the Spring - so, hey, just go whenever you can. You'll love it at any time of year
