No, I do not think any type of gun control would have prevented this maniac from attacking those people. The fact is, it's not the gun but the man who determines when to use it and if the man (or woman) is intent on committing a crime that involves a weapon then no type of gun control, no matter how stern, would interfere with those intentions.

Like all violent criminals, this Holmes lunatic weighed all and decided (by a twisted and irrational process) to enbark on the taking of lives without cause or merit.  He booby trapped his apartment to cause further death and carnage among investigators.

 

This is the work of a cold blooded killer intent on death and had no fear of the law or what it would do.

 

If this lunatic were ever released he would only do it again.  I believe the death penalty is in order.  I also believe that appeals should be exhausted and sentence carried out within 30 days.

I agree fully on the death sentence length.. Seems if a person is found not guilty there is no room for appeal, he's free from that point on yet if found guilty he can appeal and delay execution for decades. Not quite fair in my books. If they get the ultimate penalty then it should be swift (at least within three months). That should give the defense ample time to play the system because if there's any question of guilt then they shouldn't have received the death penalty in the first place so in those cases it's just a matter of playing the system like OJ's gloves. Thanks for the vote Engineer.
