Colorado is a wimpy mid western state.  If that idiot tried that in Alaska he'd have found moose hunters lined up to take potshots at him from 350 yards away.  The police have the sense not to mess with us when someone pulls something stupid like this.

You should do as we do.  If you did this could not have happened and you know it.

Wild women don't get the blues. Once you have tasted freedom, there is nothing sweeter. Get in between a Kodiak mother bear and her cub, or between an Alaskan and her freedom, and you will have the same problem.
