The best time to take an antibiotic is when you have a bacterial infection; it doesn't do anything for a viral infection or an allergy.  Many antibiotics say to take with food to reduce stomach upset.  For some it doesn't matter so much.  If you are taking once per day, just take it at your next meal after you get it, and take it at the same meal each day.
