If the date you want are not available, try placing an ad on craigslist. Maybe someone who's got tickets wouldn't mind switching to a different date if you pay a little extra.

I have 4 tickets for Friday 12th December. I am not a tout or an agency, so I don't want silly money for them. I wouldn't be getting rid of them at all if we weren't going to be on holiday then, and unfortunately I cannot change them for another evening.
