Have you ever sat down and thought about why America is where it is at today? What has brought us to this economic brink of disaster?
I have, and I think it it is because we as a nation have quit using a few words in our culture. It is no longer politically correct to say,no, wrong, illegal, not worthy, work ethic etc.
When our generation was growing up it was not OK for 13 and 14 year olds to have sex. Not, protected sex, ANY sex! It was not OK for 14 an 15 year old girls to have children out of wedlock, much less unmarried and EXPECTING the state to support her and the child! The family took responsibility when that happened! It was WRONG!
When immigrants came to this country via Ellis Island, if they had questionable back rounds they were refused entry! Citizenship was valued. Today you cannot even use the word ILLEGAL when referring to those who are in this country ILLEGALLY! Citizenship is not even DESIRED, just ACCESS to what Americans have to offer!
To own a house one worked for it , saved for it, it was earned ,not assumed it was a "right" to own a home just because you were in America! I don't say American because you don't have to be a legal citizen to be backed for a mortgage by the government!
Then there is the work ethic of our parents. If you wanted something, you worked and saved for it! When the money was there, you bought it. No credit, cash! Working hard was dignified! Taking money from the government or anyone else an abomination!
Having a job was a source of pride, dependency on the government was an embarrassment! Not that it was wrong but it was a matter of pride!
As dependency on the government in all areas has risen since the 1960's the strength of our government has fallen!
As the economy became a credit based one instead of a cash based economy we can now see where that has led us!
Finally, as our morale basis has fallen, to where teenage sex, and non parental consent on demand abortion, partial term abortion and sex of all forms is accepted we have started the demise seen by the Roman Empire. For once the morale fabric of a society is torn, the tatters soon lead to large tears and final destruction of the society itself!
It wasn't easy. It took years of unyielding pressure, and ambivalence by us to get where we are. We have become an "everything is OK ,there is no wrong, the government will take care of me, I deserve things society"
God Help Us All !
