The same reason people today refuse to believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Lord our God and Savior has to give them a new heart and an understanding of the truth. Rom 3:10 states that none believe, none seek God and none desire him prior to God who says in Phil 3:12 that "For it is God that worketh in us to will and do of His good pleasure."

America!! we had better pray to God for guidance on the future choices we make we are going down the broad path to destruction.
