Do you think we are living in the time of the end ?
Not being a Christian, no, I don't. Though I do think we're heading for a time of great change. At least that's what my people, the Hopi, predict.
The end of Christianity as a belief? I hope so.
Because of the fact that all JW cult members are rabid and angry fanatics, every bit as intensely hateful as their Gods, Jehovah and Jesus, then we can see clearly why all theists are as hateful as their Gods and clearly share the same prurient delight in wanton bloodshed. Even as theists hate reason and other types of Christian, and Sikhs and Hindus enough to kill us all where we stand, even as theists continue acting out all the mindless hate that Jehovah and Jesus taught them, no God still loves them. The same was true of a theist named Billy Graham. He was in one of the most violent bible bashing gangs in Hells Kitchen NYC -- the feared God Squad. Pastor David Wilkerson spoke with the ultraviolent theist Bin Laden (typical of the cult, bear that in mind). Even as Bin Laden kissed him, and threatened to carve a cake into pieces with a knife, Wilkerson responded, "If you cut the cake into a thousand pieces, each of those pieces will still count as a miracle." Billy Graham eventually reconsidered his violent ways as a theist and turned to sex. He is now a pimp, having come the full way from theist hate to pervy sex. So, nothing can ever change. Theists are still absolutely consumed with hate of reason and as potentially as violent as Bin Laden was. Jehovah is still in the imaginary category, as we have all rejoiced to see.
It's always "the time of the end" for someone somewhere.
"and in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make"
(Beatles. Abbey Road Album)
people have been going on about the second coming and the end times for the last 2000 years.
More spacificly. The current boute of armigenden watching has been going on for the last 180 years.
I say, don't worry about it.
Live your life as best you can. Be good to yourself and your neighbors, and let prophecy attend to it's self.
Christians have been looking for The End since the religion first began. Every generation has supposedly seen all the "signs" align and The End in sight since the days of Paul. Every so often you get a few loonies who take it so seriously they sell all their goods and don white robes in anticipation of meeting the Saviour as he floats down from the sky, only to realize they made a huge error as Jesus continues to be a no-show.
The current round of End Times preachers and seekers of Jesus to float down from the sky and fix everyone's mess like a doting mother are no different. They are equally bound to be as disappointed as all the past believers. The deceased rabbi-made-god will continue to be a no-show.
Its possible mankind could one day soon be made extinct from our own stupidity, or some natural cataclysm. But not by any miraculous Hand Of God, wherein the adherents of bronze-age superstitions are saved from the ravaging of their tribal war god. In such cases, time will still trundle on. The earth will still move in its orbit. We will pass away, unnoticed by the rest of the universe.
Short answer to the question of this thread: No. Total waste of time to worry about it.
I hope we're living in the time of the end of superstitious effen religious kooks. It's the 21st century for crissakes.
So the world is supposed to end Dec 21. I don't know about that. But I'll give you a guaranteed prediction of what will happen Dec 22. A bunch of nutcases will wake up and immediately invent a new date the world is supposed to end. Then they'll put all their great wisdom to work figuring out how to make money from it.
