What's the difference between Canadian and American Thanksgiving?

I believe that Canadian Thanksgiving is earlier than American Thanksgiving because the harvest (and colder weather) comes earlier in Canada. But the holidays are celebrated in a similar way, at least nowadays.

 It is so similar. Both Canadians and Americans celebrate Thanksgiving with parades, family gatherings, pumpkin pie and a whole lot of turkey! But Thanksgiving for Canadians is more about giving thanks for the harvest season than the arrival of pilgrims...
