They often get away with all kinds of employment violations thanks to the under staffed EEOC. They'll stretch your hearing out so by the time you try to file a suit your over the time period.

If you get off disability they'll set you up to be fired.

With the economy this bad employers are getting away with everything incuding the kitchen sink.

If you are disabled, you may collect disability benefits up to three years while you seek gainful employment.  VA, SSA, and L&I all have rehabilitation programs that you should explore.

With Obamacare coming then you may not qualify for rehab for more than 30 days, but that remains to be seen.  No one is quite sure how that mishmash would work if they actually tried to use it.
