Discuss n's answer to: Can You Tell If Your Spouse Wants to Separate?

If we remain sensitive to each other, we are able to tell when something isn't right.  In a long term marriage there will be times when the other one feels smothered and longs for privacy. There will also be times when one of us needs comforting and wants to be "smothered" with care. 

     Life is not an easy road to travel as a pair, if one of you is out of step.  Both of you need to care enough for the other one to see that his/her needs are met.  When she wants to be alone, arrange for this to happen.  When he needs more contact and more care, provide it.  Give and take and compromise until you can't see straight.  LOL....
