I hope this is free advice first of all and if not please disregard this question and any help....  I am frustrated right now on the garmin... last year prior to going on vacation the garmin let me down i.e. froze before i got started....garmin advised me to update software which i did last year....o.k.  it worked great for the next vacation...last week....again....it shut down on the highway halfway to destination....frustrating...    here is my question...... will this happen again after i update the softwware....(which i did)....and it seems to say.....battery low.....   Doesn't running it on my vehicle charge it...and if not....do i need to get an ac adapter and plug it into the wall.....?????  thanks ....Al.....

Al...if were you I would look up my receipt from where I bought it and take it back and exchange it.  I bought my husband one for Christmas last year and he hasn't had a moments trouble with it.  Maybe the one you have is just defected.  If you charged it on a credit card...they should still have a record of it where you bought it.

Al...if were you I would look up my receipt from where I bought it and take it back and exchange it.  I bought my husband one for Christmas last year and he hasn't had a moments trouble with it.  Maybe the one you have is just defective*.  If you charged it on a credit card...they should still have a credit record from where you purchased it.
