Do taste buds repair themselves?

In recovering from Stevens-Johson Syndrome I have lost my complete sense of taste.  It appears as if my tongue has been burned.  Will my taste buds repair themselves and my sense of taste be restored?  What is a typical "healing time" for this?

Thank you.

How can I repair a broken garden hose?

If you take it to a large hardware store, they may be able to sell you a replacement connector that clamps on. If you have a hole 10 feet from the end of a 50 foot hose, you could wind up with a 40 foot hose. I did that once, and it was never quite right. My choice would be to buy a new hose.
