I have a leak in my a/c unit outside in the condensor coil, if I change the coil do I have to pump the system down when I'm done before adding freon ?

What would be out of spec's on a Yamaha XV-750 I have tested both coils and they are 3.7 on the primary and 14.5 on the secondary with the lead.

my hotpoint refridge cools well,but it will freeze coils in freezer in about a week. I unplug to unthaw after replugging it freezes coils again. What parts should i replace first
