Swimming pool changing rooms

I've recently started going swimming. I notice that most women change and shower openly, not worrying about baring their breasts and even other bits in the changing rooms


I'm not ashamed of my body but still feel I have to go through an akward swimsuit off under towel routine and certainly would never be naked in the shower in front of other women.


Is it normal to be this embarrassed?  what are the social rules in this situation? Am I just being silly?

Actually I think that pool changing rooms are one of the few places where you should be able to just be comfortable with being naked - faffing about with trying to cover yourself up will probably draw more attention. 


Why not try just not worrying about it the next time you go - you might find it liberating - after all you don't know the others there...?

There is nothing awkward in being embarrassed . I think it is something you develop with your age as people tend to get older they don't judge people for their appearance and they are more aware of them selves and their surroundings therefore they aren't shy in walking around naked in public places (where they need too!). In my advice go with the flow when you are using a towel you are sticking out more then you are without.
