What does it mean when you break a glass accidentally in your kitchen?
Sorry to be so late in answering your question; I've been a little "under the weather."
I have heard that this superstition means that one's marriage is about to break apart. Personally, I disagree with that idea. I've been married for 42 years to the same man, and, along the way, I've broken many glasses, one of which left a still-distinguishable, half-circle scar on my thumb.
I've also walked under ladders and continued down a road that a black cat had just crossed. Nothing untoward has ever happened as a consequence. Relax!
Bad Luck !
Your hands were wet when you picked it up.
I break glasses all the time, there is a Superstition as to breaking a Mirror, 7 years bad luck..
